We are getting close to time for registration to open for this year’s 7th annual event! The theme has been chosen for this year and is…..CELEBRATE DIVERSITY….. ! We want to celebrate the diversity of Second Life and reach all areas of second life with this event. So let’s start thinking about that and how you can be involved to celebrate the diversity of Second Life.

Rock Your Rack 2019 presented by Models Giving Back is rapidly approaching. This year’s two week event will take place from October 5 – October 19, 2019.

The theme for our 7th Annual Event is “Celebrate Diversity”.

As always we will have a variety of fashion related and entertainment related activities as well as art. Our goal this year is to create areas within the event for different walks of Second Life and the diversity represented by each of them. This is not just a women’s fashion event!

We are currently looking for Media Partners to partner with us to make this year’s event a success and outdo our $2000USD donation from last year to the National Breast Cancer Foundation.

There is no fee to be a media partner for this event, all we ask is that you help us with the following items:
1. Spread the word in April when registration opens for the event – this can be via FB, social media, an AD in your publication, inworld groups
2. Advertise leading up to the opening of the event – Place our monthly RYR AD (it changes month to month) from April through October into your publication.
3. Spread the word in social media, and inworld groups upon opening of the event.
4. Anything else you feel would be helpful to our fundraising efforts – interviews, articles etc. We will provide you early access on Media Day as well for photos.

In Exchange for this – we as Rock Your Rack/MGB will provide the following for you –
1. Listing as Media Partner on our official website https://rockyourrack.wordpress.com
2. Placement of your Logo on ALL official AD’s for the 2019event (can’t promise this will happen for partners joining after July 31)
3. Placement of your Magazine/information giver at the Landing point of the event
4. Mention in the opening of all fashion shows held during the event as a media partner
5. Placement of your Logo in The shopping areas/runway/DJ Dance Party areas on media partner designated boards.

Every year we have several organizations that wish to partner with Models Giving Back in our Fundraising Efforts. This year we would like to welcome the group at Twisted Torque Motorcycle Club who approached MGB about supporting the work we do through their October event. We were only too happy to help them by providing a means for them to donate their lindens raised at their Rally. We would like to announce that they were able to contribute $131,183 Lindens to the cause, which will be approx. $425 USD when it is removed and donated to the cause. This donation will occur in December since we are still working on getting the funds out from RYR due to Linden Lab Limits. We would like to sincerely thank them for their contribution and look forward to working with them in the future as well! Well done!

Thank you to everyone that helped with this year’s event! Designers, Bloggers, Models, DJ’s, Live Musicians, Tribute concert participants, shoppers, artists, Hosts and media Partners! What an amazing year. We raised $540.841L which will be approx. $2000 USD to donate to the charity. Part 1 – selling the Lindens – was done 10/14/2018
We took out our limit with Linden Labs – all but 200L was able to be sold – we will just keep that 200L in our fund to add as others continue to sell items in their stores and add to the fund – they will be removed at the end of the year – otherwise the rest is here as you can see. We will round up the amount to make it $2000 USD.

Part 2 – Removal from SL to Paypal
We are limited to just $999 USD per 30 calendar days. So this will have to be done in two parts – one now as shown here, and one in 30 days from now.

The second weekend of Rock Your Rack 2018 brought another amazing Tribute concert from the Johnathan Hiess Project team. This time Duran Duran took the stage and put on a superb performance with more amazing digital quality sound that is second to none in SL. They kept the crowds entertained for the entire show including the encores. People were singing along and dancing the night away. The Light show by Brad Tylman was mesmerizing as always. If you get a chance to attend a Johnathan Hiess Project tribute show, don’t miss it – they are simply the best in SL.
